Valerie Walburn LSW

Valerie Walburn, LSW, MBA is a Licensed Social Worker with an MSW from Rutgers, an MBA from Columbia University, and a BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania. She is recently certified in Nutrition and Mental Health. After a successful corporate career, Valerie pursued her lifelong goal to become a therapist and is now focused on helping individuals, couples, and families live more balanced and fulfilling lives. 

Valerie has experience with adolescents, adults, and older adults in various settings. She draws from many modalities, including interpersonal therapy, which focuses on relationships to create change, solution-focused brief therapy, and cognitive-behavioral therapy. Valerie is trained to help her clients heal from loss and uses a trauma-informed approach where needed. She is very much about helping her clients identify, lean into and build upon their strengths in dealing with challenges. She also has a passion for assisting individuals and families as they navigate the aging process. She is a passionate advocate for aging adults and barrier-free accessibility for all.

Valerie is a life-long learner and loves to travel. She believes that “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness” (Mark Twain). Valerie’s heart belongs to her husband of twenty years and her sweet pup, Clark. Her hobbies shift from pottery to stained glass to watercolors. She loves to cook and entertain, and her favorite way to recover from a long day is a swim at the gym.
