I have always felt truly passionate about helping people.  It is my highest calling to join with my therapy clients in overcoming whatever challenges they are facing and achieve  their fullest potential.  I am warm, energetic and engaging, and take a very proactive and humanistic approach to counseling.  Having earned my MSW degree from New York University Silver School of Social Work, I have had the pleasure to work with children, teens and adults in individual, group, couples and family counseling. My extensive clinical knowledge, skills, and significant experience come to the foreground every day in my work with those who struggle with anxiety, depression and trauma.

I believe that healing is a collaborative process that requires honest caring without judgment. I am a firm believer in focusing on the whole individual, as I emphasize concepts such as free will, self-efficacy and self-actualization. I draw from a variety of methods to create a tailored approach for each individual client. These modalities include mindfulness, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), art, play and movement therapy, social learning, parent training, and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). I also utilize the holistic approach for which the Center For Transformation is well-known.

In my personal life, I enjoy exercising, spending time with my friends and family, going to the beach, and playing with my black lab Lucy.

"Working with Dia has been such a tremendous opportunity for our family.  From the first call she put us at ease and gave us the awareness that she had both the expertise and empathy needed to work with our son.  Finding a therapist for your child is never easy and Dia gave us the feeling of warmth and compassion we needed during a difficult time.  Our son has had nothing but positive things to say about his experiences in his own work with Dia and we continue to feel grateful for the opportunity to have our child work with her.  We would highly recommend her to anyone seeking therapy and looking for a warm, compassionate, and caring provider".
