I went into the field of social work after earning my bachelors in social work from Manchester College in Indiana where I also earned my Associates degree in Early Childhood Education. I have a strong passion for working with children and families to become the best they can be through a variety of interpersonal experiences. Throughout my career I have worked in a wide spectrum of settings: in residential treatment centers, early intervention, crisis intervention, in both private and public education as well as in private practice.

I completed my MSW at NYU’s Silver School of Social Work, which offered outstanding training in research-informed clinical social work practice with individuals, groups and families. I use a variety of approaches depending on your specific issues and needs. My goal is to meet you where you are now and where you want to be. I have been trained in a variety of evidenced based techniques which include Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy or CBT, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or DBT, play therapy, and psychodynamically oriented and supportive counseling. I work with a wide age range spanning from young children through adults.
As a School Social Worker on the Child Study Team at a large public high school I was the case manager for students who had an IEP. I provided individual counseling, group work as well as collaborating with the student’s family and outside support agencies in order to meet the needs of the student to be successful in the academic world and beyond. I have experience addressing academic learning disabilities, social/emotional disorders which impact the student’s ability to perform to their potential as well as social and behavioral issues.
While working in a local hospital emergency room, I have and continue to provide crisis intervention and psycho-educational support to clients and their families. Working in collaboration with the family and emergency room staff, I refer and connect patients with services that address their immediate needs. During these extremely stressful circumstances, I do all that I can to provide comfort while decreasing their level of anxiety and stress.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling and tennis. I am a huge dog person and have two shih-tzu’s, Kiera and Ember, that keep me very busy and happy!
